Time to start thinking about gardens…

Gardening at Night

It seems odd to be writing this as we’re under yet another winter weather advisory, but it is time to start thinking about where your fresh vegetables are going to come from this spring, summer and fall. Personally, we love home-grown the best — nothing beats popping peas still warm from the sun off the vine and into your mouth. Sounds good doesn’t it? Sure sounds a lot better than shovelling your car out of another snowbank…

If you don’t have adequate space, light, etc., or if you could use a little camaraderie while you garden, there’s a great Cheverly resource for you: CHVgardens. This is the second year that plots will be offered, and the guidelines and application for the 2010 season are now available. Questions? Email local Master Gardeners Dave & Casey — they’ll be happy to help you.
